If you are interested in commissioning a portrait then please contact me using the contact form.

This is really simple, just send me a good quality photo of you pet (or several if you can’t decide which one). Pick the size you want and then wait for your painting to be delivered. I will send you updates along the way so you can see how the painting is progressing, the whole process usually takes about a month. Payment is only due once you are completely happy with the painting. See pricing for a idea of the cost or contact me for a quote and to discuss your requirements.

Ideally I like to meet the subjects of my portraits to do some sketches, take reference photos and understand the character of the sitter.  However this is not always possible due to distance or perhaps if the painting is to be a gift. In this case I can work from good quality photographs that you send me.

Creating a portrait painting is a collaborative process between the client and the artist, I will discuss your requirements with you either by email, phone or in person. You may have a very clear idea of what you want or none at all, either is fine as I will work with you to create your painting.   I will then do some preliminary sketches which you can approve or request alterations until you are happy with the design for the final portrait.  I will send you pictures of the painting at the half way stage to give you an idea of what the finished piece will look like and to give you the opportunity to request any alterations.  I will send you another picture once the painting is nearly complete for your final approval.  The painting is only finished once you are happy with it.

Depending on the size and complexity of the painting this can be quite a long process, usually between 1 and 3 months. Please contact me in plenty of time if you have a specific deadline such as a birthday.
